hey guy be excited as 'descendants of The Sun" star Song Joong Ki allegedly posted a picture on Instagram that hints a possible new addition to the cast of the popular KDrama. In addition, Song Joong Ki and on-screen love interest Song Hye Kyo, may return as a married couple in Season 2.

According to a report published by IBTimes, NEW representative recently seems to have confirmed that "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2 pre-production works has already begun. The representative further went on to suggest that the show is being prepared for a 2017 launch itself. Moreover, it is further confirmed that the name of the show will remain the same. Besides this, no other information has been provided by the representative as yet.

KBS stated that they're still discussing whether to continue the original story of a soldier or move to a different arc.

While all eyes were definitely on Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki's romance in "Descendants of the Sun," Kim Ji Won and Jin Goo's love team also proved to be popular with fans. Thus, there are theories that "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2 might focus on the story of the second couple.

Jin Goo is open to doing a second round of "Descendants of the Sun," as he once said in an interview that he would commit to Season 2 if viewers allow it.

"In my 14 years of acting, I've never filmed for something like a sequel and so I do want to experience in," Soompi quoted Jin Goo as saying.

While it is hoped that everyone can return, there's no confirmation yet as to who might return to the rumored "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2. KBS previously said that they want to advance a project that the whole production team and cast can commit to.

For now, Song Joong Ki is filming his upcoming movie "Battleship Island."

Kim Won Suk, co-writer for the original drama, may or may not do the screenplay for "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2. In an interview, Kim declared that he has no intention to work on another season since she's already told the story she wanted to tell.
